Best of Venice, Florence and Rome

Welcome to our travel website! Before we dive into our amazing adventure let me share with you how we even decided on Rick Steves' tours. It all started with my father in law lending us Rick Steves' complete set of DVDs. I did not even know who Rick Steve was, never had I heard of him. My daughter (10 years old at the time), my husband and myself started watching the DVDs and fell in love with the way Rick dives deep into the culture of the area he is traveling. He seemed genuinely trying to explore past the tourist traps and really expose his viewers to the hidden gems of an area. We were hooked! We had never done a tour before but we just knew we would be in good hands if we picked one of his tours.

​About half of my ancestors came from Italy and I have a proud Italian descendants on my mother and my father's side so I just knew I needed to visit the "Motherland." My daughter had her heart set on seeing Venice and Pompeii and I was wondering how that would work because the two places seemed very far apart on the map. We were also working around my daughter's spring break and the Best of Venice, Florence and Rome lined up perfectly with our wish list. We knew we would add on a day to explore Pompeii, which I found was a common addition to this tour. 

The first week of April 2024 my husband, myself and our 11 year old daughter experienced the trip of a lifetime! The trip was 10 days but the memories will last forever! We spent three days in Venice, three days in Florence and three days in Rome with an additional day we added to do a tour of Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Here are the memories of our trip...
